Jenni Portman

Jenni Portman is an experienced engineering manager with a background in project management and scientific research. Currently serving as Engineering Manager at Smartly.io since August 2023, Jenni previously held the same role at Utopia Music and served as Senior Project Manager at Nanoform. Prior experience includes various managerial and technical positions at Enthought, where Jenni contributed as Consulting Manager, Tech Lead, Team Lead, and Scientific Software Engineer. Jenni began a career in academia as a Postdoctoral Researcher and Graduate Research Assistant at Michigan State University. Education includes a Ph.D. in Physics from Michigan State University and both a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Physics from Università degli Studi di Milano-Bicocca. Notably, Jenni contributed to financial consulting for Bank Intesa San Paolo, developing models to enhance database unification using the Kondor+ Suite while facilitating communication across management and staff.
