Cheng Yen (Harlan) C. has a range of experience in firmware engineering roles. Cheng Yen (Harlan) began their career at InnoDisk USA in 2006 as a software engineer. From 2008 to 2013, they worked as an expert software engineer at ASMedia Technology Inc., specializing in USB 3.0 Pen Drive and SATA Card Reader FW design. In 2013, they joined SMART Modular Technologies as a Staff Engineer, where they led projects and handled marketing requirements. In 2015, they became Deputy Manager at BIWIN, responsible for consumer eMMC Gen2 and SATA Gen3 products. Following that, they worked at Liteon Technology from 2016 to 2019 as an Associate Project Manager, focusing on NVMe Gen3x2 product SDK solutions. Currently, they are the Lead Staff Firmware Engineer at SMART Modular Technologies, troubleshooting SATA products to pass DVT tests.

Cheng Yen (Harlan) C. attended Fu Jen Catholic University from 2000 to 2004, although the specific degree and field of study are unknown. Later, from 2006 to 2008, they pursued a Master of Science (MS) in Computer Science at the same university.
