- Responsibilities: Designed all-new customer-facing mobile application to replace aging existing application. Extensive Usability Testing informed the design of the application and reduced risk for application launch. Direct collaboration with the client during weekly ideation meetings including the presentation of the latest mockups for feedback and requirement gathering for upcoming designs.

- Role: User Experience Designer, Associate Consultant

- Responsibilities: Led research and design of a map-based portal that displays real-time GPS location and equipment telemetry information for construction equipment with Telematics devices. Combined business requirements and user-centered design into a powerful, user-friendly web portal. Led direct collaboration with the client during weekly ideation meetings including the presentation of design mockups for client feedback, gathered requirements for upcoming designs, and user story creation.

- Role: Graduate Teaching Assistant, The Design School

- Responsibilities: Teaching Assistant for IND 316: 20th Century Design I and IND 317: 20th Century Design II. Covered European and American design from 1850 to 2000 with thematic emphases on worldview, the natural world, economics, technology, and transportation.

- Responsibilities: Produced concept sketches, CAD models, and production drawings for S. E. E.

James Hill has a Master of Industrial Design (MID) degree in Industrial Design from Arizona State University. Before that, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in History of Art and Architecture with an emphasis in Architecture and the Environment from UC Santa Barbara. In addition to their formal education, James has also obtained several certifications, including "Freelancing and Consulting in User Experience" and "Design Thinking: Understanding the Process" from LinkedIn, as well as multiple certifications in UX Design from LinkedIn. James has also completed training in "IRB – Social & Behavioral Research" from the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI Program).
