Justin Castaneda

Justin Castaneda has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Justin currently serves as the Director of UX at SmartRent, where they manage a team of UX Designers and oversees user testing and data tracking for product insights. Prior to this, they worked as a Product Design Manager and Senior UI/UX Designer at the same company.

Before joining SmartRent, Justin was a Freelance UI/UX Designer & Illustrator, taking on side projects involving web design and development. Justin also gained experience at RevolutionParts, Inc. as a UI/UX Designer, focusing on research, analysis, testing, and optimization of eCommerce platforms. Additionally, they worked as a Web Developer at the same company, building websites and developing in-house CMS platforms.

Justin also had a role as an Assistant Director at iD Tech, where they focused on administrative tasks and ensuring a positive experience for campers and parents. Justin held the position of Web Director for The Lumberjack, the NAU school newspaper, where they supervised content management and utilized CMS systems. Prior to that, they worked as a Content Manager for the same publication.

Justin's early experience includes a Front End Development Internship at Deckers Outdoor Corporation and a role as a Receiving Associate at The Home Depot. Justin began their career as a Pet Care Manager at PetSmart, where they implemented strategies to reduce pet loss and improve store performance.

Justin Castaneda attended Northern Arizona University from 2009 to 2015, where they obtained two bachelor's degrees. Justin earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Electronic Media and Film and a Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) in Interactive Design and Visual Communications.
