Blane Rockafellow

Blane Rockafellow has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Blane began their career as a Co-Founder and Managing Partner at Integrated Computer Aided Solutions from 1987 to 1993. Blane later worked as a Field Application Engineer/Consultant at INTEGRATED SYSTEMS, INC. from 1997 to 1999.

Blane then transitioned to the role of Principal Software Engineer at Hatteras Networks, a venture-funded company, from 1999 to 2000. Blane played a key role in defining and developing the platform for last-mile data and telephony equipment.

In 2000, Blane became the Co-Founder, President, and VP of Marketing and Product Strategy at TapRoot Systems, Inc., a venture-backed company in the mobile phone ecosystem. Blane led the company's day-to-day operations, bootstrapping efforts, and developed sales and marketing plans for the Go-To-Market strategy.

From 2009 to 2013, Blane worked as an Executive Consultant focusing on strategic, tactical, and agile development. Blane partnered with executive teams to create and execute business plans, develop Agile approaches for go-to-market and routes-to-market strategies, and increase revenue and corporate value through product creation, business development, and sales.

During the same period, Blane also joined IBM as part of the System x Stack Marketing Team. Blane played a crucial role in developing market strategies for System x servers, focusing on big data, in-memory analytics, cloud, data center networking, storage, and competitive x86-based systems. Blane provided sales and technical support to channel partners and executed strategic and educational marketing positioning for System x servers.

Blane's most recent position was at SmartSky Networks, LLC, where they held multiple roles since 2013. Initially, they served as the Vice President of Digital Solutions, leading the launch of SmartSky 4G, a next-generation aviation communications network. Later, Blane became the VP of Digital Solutions Technologies, providing vision and leadership in the development of strategic products and patented technologies, including an eCommerce marketplace.

Throughout their career, Blane has demonstrated expertise in strategic planning, business development, product creation, and go-to-market strategies. Blane has excelled in various senior leadership positions, contributing to the growth and success of the companies they have worked for.

Blane Rockafellow obtained a certification as a Certified Scrum Master (CSM) from Scrum Alliance in 2009. Blane pursued a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BS BA) with a focus on Marketing, Computer Science, and Math at Central Michigan University. Blane'seducation also includes a Master of Science in Computer Science (MSCS) from The Johns Hopkins University.
