Jill Tomandl

Vice President, Global Product Development, Innovation, And Brand Sustainability at Smashbox Cosmetics

Jill Tomandl has a diverse and extensive work experience. Jill started their career as an intern at General Motors in 1992 and then had a quality engineering internship at Johnson & Johnson. Jill later worked as a package engineer at General Motors and Merle Norman Cosmetics. Jill then joined Leiner Health Products as a package engineer before moving on to Estee Lauder and LVMH Fashion Group in package development roles. In 2001, they became the Chief Creative Officer at Stila Cosmetics, where they led innovation, product development, package design, and overall creative direction. After leaving Stila in 2014, Jill became the Vice President of Global Product Development, Innovation, and Brand Sustainability at Smashbox Cosmetics. In 1995, they also founded their own company, Jill Tomandl Custom Design, where they worked as a designer, creative director, and founder until 2015. Overall, Jill Tomandl has a strong background in product development, innovation, package design, and brand sustainability within the cosmetics industry.

Jill Tomandl is currently pursuing a degree in Sustainability Studies at the University of Cambridge, starting in 2021. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Packaging from Michigan State University. Additionally, Jill has studied Graphic Design at the ArtCenter College of Design, Design and Applied Arts at the College for Creative Studies, Fashion/Apparel Design at FIDM, and Art/Art Studies, General at Parsons School of Design - The New School.
