Joshua Gaines has had a diverse work experience spanning over three decades. Their current role is as Chief Development Officer at SMC Infrastructure Partners, where they have been since 2021, previously serving as their EVP for Corporate & Strategic Development. Before this, they founded Spring Health Ventures in 2020, which advises, connects, and invests in businesses focused on cost-effective, chronic disease reversal and long-term health. Prior to this, they spent over 17 years with Cardinal Health in various roles such as SVP for Corporate Development & Innovation, Strategy & Corporate Development, and Asst. General Counsel - M&A. Joshua also served on the board of naviHealth and worked as an Associate in Business Group at Morrison & Foerster LLP and Ropes & Gray LLP. Joshua started their career by founding Virginia Ice Cream (d/b/a AJ's Gourmet Ice Cream & Cookie Factory), where they served as Founder and General Manager for a period of 8 years.
Joshua Gaines earned a BA in Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania. After completing their undergraduate studies, they attended the University of Virginia School of Law from 1991 to 1994 and earned a JD degree.
