Jeannine Kunz joined SME in August 2000 supporting research and new product development. Today, Kunz serves as SME's chief workforce development officer, leveraging the organization’s existing and extensive foundation of manufacturing workforce solutions. In her most recent role as vice president of Tooling U-SME — the leading provider of learning and development solutions for the manufacturing community — she oversaw the areas of SME that are dedicated to the ongoing training and education of the current and future manufacturing workforce. Kunz's vision and dedication have put her at the forefront of workforce management issues as she provides forward-thinking learning and development solutions for companies, academia and individuals. Kunz is chair of the National Defense Industrial Association Manufacturing Division’s Workforce Committee, executive committee member of America Makes, a board member for the National Coalition of Career Development, an industry advisor on the THINKER program at Clemson University and on the Advanced Robotics for Manufacturing’s Education & Workforce Advisory Committee. She is also a founding member of the Skilled Trades Coalition. Crain’s Detroit Business recognized Kunz for her professional accomplishments, selecting her as a 2018 Notable Women in Manufacturing and 2019 Notable Women in Education Leadership – in Michigan. Kunz earned a bachelor's degree in business and marketing with a concentration in economics from Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti, Michigan. SME Member Since 2008.
