Saad Charkaoui

Data Scientist at Smeetz

Saad Charkaoui is a data scientist who is currently working at Smeetz. Prior to this, they worked as a research assistant at Centre national de la recherche scientifique (CNRS) from June 2021 to August 2021. There, they developed an original device from scratch that predicts contacts between pedestrians in a dense crowd to avoid Progressive crowd collapse. Saad was supervised by Prof, Alexandre Nicolas. Charkaoui collected 30k lines of numerical data from the sensors and build the preprocessing pipeline. Saad utilized python to implement unsupervised machine learning techniques and improved the accuracy of the MLP model by 30% using additional features by implementing ultrasonic sensors.

Saad Charkaoui has a Master of Science from EPFL in Data Science, a degree in Signal and Image Processing from Grenoble INP - Phelma, and an intensive undergraduate program in mathematics and physics from Cpge lycée Mohammed VI in Casablanca. Saad also has a certification from Coursera in Natural Language Processing in TensorFlow.

Saad Charkaoui reports to Morgan Siffert, CTO & Co-Founder. Some of their coworkers include Hamza Kahil - Backend Developer, Yuliya Vashchenko - QA Engineer, and Alexey Aschaulov - Frontend Developer.
