Jeff Kang

Jeff Kang has a diverse work experience background. Jeff'smost recent role is as an Insights Analyst at SMG - Service Management Group, a position they started in July 2022. Prior to this, they completed a Certification Program in IT Security at Trend Micro from October to December 2021. In this program, they gained knowledge in IT and cyber security, including networking, Linux, and threat detection and response. Jeff also built AWS environments and prepared for the AWS Solutions Architect exam.

Before their time at Trend Micro, Jeff worked at Carnegie Mellon University in two different roles. From August 2018 to May 2020, they served as a Work Study in the Department of Philosophy, where they developed projects to streamline workflow, advertised department events, and prepared faculty profiles for a university-wide transition. Additionally, from March 2017 to May 2020, they worked as a Career Peer Mentor at the Career and Professional Development Center, advising students in their job search, tailoring workshops, and promoting Career Center events through various communication channels.

Jeff also gained experience at Allegheny Land Trust as an MS4 Intern from June to August 2019. In this role, they researched the Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) and developed an education program to help municipalities meet their MS4 permit requirements. Jeff also fostered relationships between different municipalities and the Allegheny Land Trust for future collaboration in educational programs.

Jeff Kang completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Ethics, History, and Public Policy; Science, Technology, and Public Policy at Carnegie Mellon University from 2016 to 2020. Jeff then pursued further education at Mercyhurst University, where they obtained a Master of Science degree in Applied Intelligence from 2020 to 2022. Additionally, they received certifications from Trend Micro, including being a Trend Micro Apex One as a Service Certified Professional in November 2021 and a Trend Micro Deep Security 20 Certified Professional in October 2021.
