Simon McMahon

Simon McMahon is an experienced professional with a diverse background in education and translation. Currently serving as an MFL supply teacher at Smile Education Recruitment since September 2018, Simon previously taught German, Spanish, and French at KING EDWARD VI FIVE WAYS SCHOOL from September 2016 to August 2018, gaining experience with the Edexcel board for GCSE and A-Level. Alongside teaching, Simon has been a freelance specialist translator in the DE>EN automotive sector since November 2011, with proficiency in CAT tools such as SDL Trados, Transit, and Across. Additionally, Simon has a background in the hospitality industry, having worked as a sommelier for Cunard Line from October 2003 to April 2009. Academic qualifications include a PGCE in Secondary Education and Teaching, an M.A. in Translation with a focus on Engineering, Energy, and Automotive from the University of Exeter, and a B.A. in Modern Languages.
