Vladimir Volkov has held various roles as a Chief Engineer in different companies. From 2009 to 2010, they worked as a Chief Engineer of different types of tugs at Lowland International. VLADIMIR then went on to work as a Chief Engineer of different types of tugs at Atlas Professionals from 2010 to 2011. In 2011, they briefly served as the Chief Engineer of AHTS "VIKING" at Seacontractors. From 2006 to 2012, they held the position of Chief Engineer of different types of tugs at ICS. In 2016, they joined Different Dutch Offshore Companies as a Chief Engineer until 2017. VLADIMIR subsequently worked as a Chief Engineer at Boluda Corporación Marítima, S.L. from 2017 to 2018. Currently, they hold the position of Chief Engineer at Smit Lamnalco, starting from 2012.
Vladimir Volkov attended Liepaja Marine College from 1974 to 1978. During this time, they focused their studies on ship power installations, although the specific degree obtained is not provided.
