Susan P. Shepherd

Susan Shepherd has extensive work experience in various positions within the Smithers company. Susan currently holds the role of Group President at Smithers, starting in September 2022. Prior to this, they worked at EmptyBox where they served as an Advisor and Board Member, as well as a Board Member starting in April 2022.

Before joining EmptyBox, Susan held leadership positions at Smithers - Environmental Risk Sciences, where they served as President from September 2014 to September 2022. Prior to that, they were the Vice President of NA Operations from January 2011 to September 2014.

Susan's earlier experience includes a role as Director of Ecotoxicology at Smithers Viscient (formerly Smithers Springborn) from February 2006 to February 2011. In this role, they directed staff scientists and managed the operations related to ecotoxicology studies.

Throughout their career, Susan has demonstrated success in managing teams, driving financial and technical growth, and ensuring compliance. Susan has experience in various industries such as crop protection products, pharmaceuticals, and industrial chemicals.

Susan Shepherd has a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Natural Resources Management and Policy, with a focus on Wildlife Science, from Rutgers University. Susan also holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the Babson F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business, specializing in Business Administration, Management, and Operations. In addition, Susan has obtained a Teacher Certification in Biology/Biological Sciences from Bridgewater State College. Susan has also received additional certifications, including a Certificate in Private Company Governance from the Private Directors Association® and a Secondary School Teacher certification from Bridgewater State University.
