Anna Karvellas

Anna Karvellas serves as the Director of the Philanthropy Initiative and Great Americans Medal Series Programs at the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of American History since June 2012, overseeing significant initiatives supported by the Gates Foundation and David M. Rubenstein. Previously, Karvellas worked as a Program Specialist and Editor at the Lemelson Center for Invention and Innovation, contributing to notable publications and award-winning exhibitions. Earlier experience includes serving as Managing Editor for the William Steinway Diary Project, Senior Proposal Writer at Sotheby's, and holding editorial positions at Time Inc. and W. W. Norton & Company. Anna Karvellas earned a B.A. with Highest Honors in English from the University of Michigan.
