Crystal H. Rie

Crystal H. Rie is a highly experienced digital archivist and digital asset management specialist with a robust background in managing, archiving, and enhancing the accessibility of digital assets. Currently serving as a Digital Archivist at the Smithsonian Institution since January 2025, Crystal has previously held roles as a Digital Asset Librarian at General Mills and as a Digital Archivist at the Smithsonian Institution in various capacities. Professional experience includes collaborating with diverse teams to improve content creation processes, enhancing representation in archival collections, and meticulously managing digital workflows for over 30,000 audiovisual log sheets, 3,500 video files, and 210,000 digital institutional records. Education includes a Master's degree in Asian Studies from Georgetown University, in addition to ongoing studies in Digital Asset Management at Rutgers University, and a Bachelor's degree in Art History from Emory University.
