Michelle Donahue

Michelle Donahue is a seasoned Science Writer and Editor currently serving in an Advancement Program Specialist role at the Smithsonian Institution since December 2023. In this position, Michelle is the resident editorial expert and strategic communications consultant for fundraising teams across three Smithsonian units, leveraging creative problem-solving skills to enhance operational processes. With a background in consulting for clients such as the University of Maryland and the American Association for the Advancement of Science, Michelle has reported on a variety of topics including robotics and wildlife conservation for prestigious publications like The New York Times and National Geographic. Additional experience includes roles as a Strategic Communications Specialist at NOAA, a Writer for Remilon LLC specializing in search engine optimization, and reporting on U.S. fiscal policy for Canadian Economic Press. Michelle holds a B.A. in English from Vanderbilt University and has international educational experience in Germany.
