Matthew Winney

Matthew Winney is the current Marine Manager / DPA at SMS Towage. Matthew has worked in the maritime industry for over 20 years, starting as a GP Rating/Mate with Svitzer in July 1999. Matthew then moved to UK Dredging in November 2007, where they worked their way up to Master - UKD Seahorse. In February 2009, they left UK Dredging to join SMS Towage.

Matthew Winney attended the University of Lincolnshire & Humberside, Franklin Sixth Form College, and Hereford School. Matthew has certification from Lloyd's Maritime Academy in Diploma in Ship Superintendency, Ferriby Marine in 6 Day Lead Auditor/Auditor Training for ISO 9001 QMS incorporating ISM Code, NEBOSH in National General Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health, and Maritime and Coastguard Agency in Master 200 (Code Vessel) 150 Miles from a safe haven.

They work with Michael Halasz - Operations (North East), Jason Moon - Crewing Manager / HR Advisor, and Ronald Keuning - Technical Manager. A direct report to Matthew Winney is and Amy Foster - Marine Superintendent. Their manager is Gareth Escreet, Managing Director.
