Evan Miller

Evan Miller has a diverse and extensive work experience. Evan is currently working at Snap Finance as the Lead Data Scientist, where they oversee data science projects and focuses on automation, experimentation, machine learning, and statistics. Prior to this role, Evan worked as a Data Science Manager at Snap Finance, leading a team of data scientists and driving various initiatives related to automation and machine learning. Before joining Snap Finance, Evan worked as a Senior Data Scientist at the same company, where they built and evaluated experiments to improve business decisions, conducted statistical tests, and automated data transfers and machine learning models.

Before Snap Finance, Evan worked at Sorenson Communications as a Data Scientist, where they built machine learning models to optimize services for the deaf community. This included forecasting and optimizing the number of interpreters needed and predicting call-demand to inform business decisions. Evan also implemented anomaly algorithms to identify and prevent fraud and waste.

Evan gained experience as a Data Scientist Intern at Health Catalyst and as a Graduate Research Assistant at Boise State University. At Health Catalyst, they contributed to various data science projects, while at Boise State University, they conducted research in the Computational Materials Science and Engineering Lab, utilizing molecular simulations and machine learning to analyze self-assembly and material properties.

Subsequently, they pursued higher education at Boise State University, earning a Master's degree in Materials Science in 2019, followed by a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in the same field.
