Lead Data Scientist at Snappy Shopper

Salvatore Maraniello has extensive work experience in the field of data science and research. Salvatore is currently working as the Lead Data Scientist at Snappy Shopper since August 2021. Prior to this role, they worked as a Data Scientist at The Plum Guide starting from September 2019.

Before their role at The Plum Guide, Salvatore worked as a Data Science Fellow at Faculty, where they joined easyJet for a revenue forecasting project. During this time, they developed machine learning models of increasing accuracy and complexity, including linear and non-linear regression, random-forest, and neural-networks. Salvatore utilized Python, pandas, sklearn, and keras for developing the framework.

Salvatore also worked as a Data Scientist at easyJet, where they built machine learning tools for flight revenue forecasting as part of their Faculty Fellowship. Salvatore held this position concurrently with their role at Faculty.

In addition to their data science roles, Salvatore has research experience. Salvatore worked as a Research Associate at Imperial College London from January 2017 to April 2019. Prior to that, they were a Research Postgraduate at the same institution from January 2013 to December 2016.

Salvatore's earlier experience includes working as a Loads and Dynamics Engineer at Airbus from June 2011 to December 2012.

Salvatore Maraniello has a strong educational background in the field of aerospace engineering, with a focus on computational aeroelasticity. Salvatore obtained their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II. Afterward, they pursued further studies at Imperial College London, where they obtained a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering in 2011. Salvatore continued their academic journey at Imperial College London and completed a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Computational Aeroelasticity in 2016.

In addition to their formal education, Salvatore Maraniello has also pursued additional certifications to enhance their skills and knowledge. Salvatore has completed several courses through Coursera, including "Essential Google Cloud Infrastructure: Core Services," "Elastic Google Cloud Infrastructure: Scaling and Automation," "Essential Google Cloud Infrastructure: Foundation," "Google Cloud Platform Fundamentals: Core Infrastructure," and "Inferential Statistical Analysis with Python."
