Jean - Aimé Mougenot

Acting Director, TER at SNCF

Jean-Aimé Mougenot joined SNCF in 1980 as a train driver in the Midi-Pyrénées region, forging solid, hands-on experience of the rail industry and in-depth regional knowledge.

From 1994 to 2002 he headed SNCF traction units in Oise, a département in northern France, and in northern Paris. Later he took responsibility for driver rosters and scheduling, and in 2004 he became head of Human Resources for the Group’s driver corps.

His career then took him to SNCF’s TER regional rail service, where he served as regional director for TER Picardy from 2011 to 2013 and as deputy director of TER France from 2014 to 2016.

Since 2016, he has headed TER’s Sud-Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region for SNCF Voyageurs. There he was responsible for negotiating a new agreement with the organizing authority in January 2019, and for responding to calls for tenders issued by the Sud region as it opened to competition. In 2017 he launched a transformation plan that has delivered tangible improvements in service quality.
