Gerald Kanapathy

Gerald Kanapathy has a strong and diverse work experience that spans over multiple companies and roles. Gerald is currently serving as the Principal Software Architect at Snorkel AI since May 2023. Prior to this, they were the Head of Engineering at Daisi Technology, Inc. from October 2021 to November 2022, where they also served as the Head of Product Management. During their time at Daisi Technology, Inc., they built the platform daisi.io for Python serverless functions.

Before that, Gerald held various positions at Lucidworks starting from November 2014. Gerald served as the Vice President of Engineering from November 2018 to October 2021, leading the Engineering team through a product transition to a cloud-native Kubernetes-based architecture. During their time at Lucidworks, they also served as the Chief Information Security Officer and Privacy Officer from January 2017 to October 2021, overseeing operational and cloud product security, regulatory compliance, and certifications. Gerald implemented processes, controls, and reporting for SOC-2, ISO, and HIPAA compliance programs. Additionally, they served as the Chief Architect from November 2017 to November 2018 and the Vice President of Product Management from November 2014 to November 2017.

Gerald has also worked at other notable companies in the past. At Splunk, they held various roles such as Senior Director of Product Management, Technical Fellow, and Senior Director of Technical Services. Gerald played a key role in managing business development technical services, defining and executing partnership technical strategies, and supporting relationships with technology and services partners.

Prior to Splunk, Gerald worked at BEA Systems, formerly Plumtree Software, as the Director of Professional Services from January 2000 to May 2008. In this role, they defined best practices and field enablement for Plumtree Portal and BEA AquaLogic BPM deployments.

Gerald's early career includes working at Plumtree Software as the Director of Professional Services from January 2000 to October 2005 and at Perficient as a Principal Consultant from 1999 to 2002. Gerald started their career at Arthur Andersen as a Senior Consultant from 1998 to 1999 and at Price Waterhouse as a Senior Consultant from 1995 to 1998.
