Cristian Diaconu

Cristian Diaconu is a seasoned software engineer with extensive experience in cloud-native architectures and high-performance database systems. Currently serving as a Principal Engineer at Snowflake since March 2022, Cristian previously held the position of Partner SDE at Microsoft, where significant contributions included leading the development of the Socrates architecture for SQL Server and being part of the team that initiated the Hekaton Engine for In-Memory OLTP in 2009. Prior experience includes roles as an Architect at FatWire Software and Dev Lead at SAP, along with early career development at MarketView. Cristian holds a BS in Computer Science from Roosevelt University and completed pre-MS studies in Computer Science at the University of Illinois Chicago.
