Mauro Nicolao

Mauro Nicolao has a diverse work experience spanning multiple companies and roles. Mauro is currently working at SoapBox Labs as the Head of Speech since January 2023. Prior to this, they were a Senior Speech Recognition Engineer at SoapBox Labs from September 2021 to February 2023. Before joining SoapBox Labs, Mauro worked at ITSLanguage as a Senior Research Scientist from January 2019 to August 2021. Mauro also has experience with the University of Sheffield, where they served as a Research Associate from January 2013 to August 2021 and as an Early Stage Researcher from January 2010 to December 2012. In addition, Mauro worked as an ASR Researcher at Expert System from January 2007 to June 2009 and as a Research Assistant at Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche from February 2006 to January 2007.

Mauro Nicolao has a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Computer Science from The University of Sheffield. Mauro also holds a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Telecommunication Engineering from the Università degli Studi di Padova. Mauro'sstudies in Telecommunication Engineering focused on programming, signal analysis and processing, machine learning, and speech technology.
