Nita Starr

Nita Starr has over two decades of experience in various roles within nonprofit organizations, emphasizing grant writing, fundraising, and member services. Currently, Nita serves as a Grant Writer, Annual Fund Director, and Special Events/Grants Coordinator at SOAR365 since March 2011. Previously, Nita held the position of Member Services Director at Goochland Family YMCA, overseeing the recruitment and retention of 4,000 members and managing financial aid. Additional experience includes serving as Development Coordinator at YMCA of Greater Richmond and roles at Richmond Hill, where Nita played a key role in raising over $7 million for a Capital Campaign while managing hospitality operations. Nita holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Work from Louisiana College.
