Kevin Tame

Kevin Tame has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Kevin began their career as an entrepreneur at a young age, starting their own lawn mowing and landscaping service called Kevin's Law Service in 1994. Kevin then went on to establish Tame Painting in 2003, where they served as the President, Founder, and Head Painter. During this time, they managed a team of 3-7 painters and completed numerous projects.

In 2006, Kevin transitioned to a role at Rise Services, Inc. as a Family Support Coordinator. In this position, they hired, trained, and managed a team of 40+ staff members who provided in-home services to children with disabilities. Kevin also directly supported individuals with severe mental and physical disabilities, emphasizing the importance of compassion, empathy, and patience in building trust.

Kevin's passion for education led him to Teach for America in 2010. Kevin initially served as a Corps Member, teaching Algebra 1 and gaining a deep appreciation for the challenges of educational inequity and institutional racism. Kevin then transitioned to the tech team as the Director of User Experience, leading UX efforts before being recruited to join Urban Teachers as the Director of Information Systems and Technology. At Urban Teachers, Kevin managed the technology team, improving their managerial skills and providing professional support to their team members.

Continuing their career in the tech industry, Kevin co-founded Thrive Software in 2018 as the Chief Product Officer. Here, they collaborated with thread.org to develop an app supporting their mentoring program and leveraged their findings to create a direct-to-consumer coaching app.

In 2012, Kevin founded Eddee, an educational technology company utilizing natural language processing. Though it was ahead of its time initially, Eddee was revived in the rise of NLP and now assists teachers in the classroom.

Most recently, Kevin joined Soar.com in 2023 as a Product Director, Front-End Developer, and AI Prompt Engineer. Kevin is involved in building AI tools, including Soar Scribe, an AI tool that provides powerful summaries of video calls, with the overarching goal of helping humanity.

Throughout their career, Kevin has gained expertise in product development, technology management, user experience, and team leadership. With their diverse background and a focus on technological innovation, Kevin continuously seeks new opportunities to make a positive impact.

Kevin Tame obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Sociology from Brigham Young University, which they attended from 2003 to 2008. Following this, they pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree at the Utah State University - Jon M. Huntsman School of Business, completing their studies from 2009 to 2010. Subsequently, they enrolled at The Johns Hopkins University, where they earned a Master of Science in Education (MSEd) degree in the field of Education from 2011 to 2013.
