Elshad Nassirov

After graduating from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations, Elshad Nassirov studied at the Department of Oriental Studies at the Moscow Academy Institute.

He started his career at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Soviet Union in 1987 and worked at the Embassy of Kabul and New Delhi Embassy. After the independence of Azerbaijan, he became a member of the United Nations Azerbaijan Diplomatic Delegation in 1992.

Nassirov, who joined SOCAR in 1997 and started to work as the Marketing and Operations General Manager, has been appointed as SOCAR's Vice President of Investment and Marketing since 2005. He is responsible for the investments he has made in the oil and gas sector. In this role, he also led the Southern Gas Corridor and other investment projects. Elshad Nassirov has been working as SOCAR Turkey Enerji A.Ş. He is a Member of the Board of Directors. Nassirov has also been the Vice President of the Azerbaijan Football Federations Association (AFFA) since 2004.
