Emily McKelvey Carpenter

Director at Social Finance

Emily McKelvey Carpenter is an Associate Director at Social Finance, where she supports government and nonprofit partners in designing and implementing outcomes-based solutions. Her project work has focused on promoting stable, high-quality employment and helping to build strong and healthy families.

Prior to joining Social Finance, Emily worked in strategy consulting as a Manager at Kaiser Associates, providing advisory services to help leading companies evaluate new business models and markets. Prior to her time in consulting, she worked as a Research Associate at the Education Advisory Board (EAB), where she authored research briefs enabling higher education clients to assess job market trends, align curriculum with employer and student demand, and identify opportunities for program development and revitalization. While in graduate school, she completed a fellowship for the U.S. Agency for International Development’s Center for Innovation and Impact (CII), which applies business-minded approaches to accelerate impact on some of the world’s most important health issues. Emily holds a B.A. in Public Policy from Duke University and an M.B.A. in Finance and Social Impact from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
