Chamalee Karunanayake has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Chamalee started their career as a Volunteer at The Salvation Army Australia and then worked as a Senior Sales Assistant at Factorie. Chamalee also served as a Student Ambassador for Student Marketing Australia and as a Public Relations Officer for Oaktree. In 2015, Chamalee interned as a Marketing Intern at Deakin University, where they initiated and ran the Activation Program and organized high school visits. Chamalee continued their journey at Deakin University as a Prospective Student Enquiries Officer in the Marketing Division, where they communicated sales strategy and updated databases using Salesforce.

Chamalee then joined CPA Australia as a member of the Brand & Integrated Marketing team, where they built and deployed eDMs and SMS reminders and conducted A/B testing. Chamalee later returned to Deakin University as a Study Abroad Support Staff Member and then held the position of Senior Student Recruitment and Marketing Officer, where they coordinated domestic student recruitment activities.

Chamalee's most recent experiences include working at Deakin University as a Business Partnerships Coordinator, where they developed and implemented initiatives for growing enrolments and generated B2B contracts. Chamalee is currently working as an Account Director at Student Garden and Social Garden - Customer Acquisition, Experience & Retention, where they facilitate account management duties.

Chamalee Karunanayake has a diverse education history. In 2007 and 2008, they attended Wheelers Hill Secondary College for their high school education. Chamalee continued their high school education at Caulfield Grammar School from 2009 to 2012. Following their high school education, Chamalee attended Deakin University from 2013 to 2016, where they pursued a Bachelor of Commerce/Bachelor of Arts degree with a focus on Marketing, Public Relations, Media & Communications.

Chamalee furthered their education by attending various institutions and obtaining additional certifications. In 2017, they obtained the Mental Health First Aid certification from Mental Health First Aid Australia, and the Adult First Aid/CPR/AED certification from St John Ambulance (Vic).

In 2018, Chamalee attended ADMA IQ to enhance their skills in Digital Communication and Media/Multimedia through the Digital Marketing Campaign Planning and Management Course.

In 2019 and 2020, they enrolled in the Institute of Managers and Leaders, where they completed the Intentional Leadership Foundations Program, focusing on Management and Leadership.

Most recently, in 2023, Chamalee attended the Australian Institute of Management for a short period to study Key Account Management, earning a certification in Sales: Key Account Management.
