Laurel Struthers has a diverse work experience spanning a decade. Starting from 2010, they were a Supported Housing Officer at Action Homeless Leicester, providing housing support to homeless individuals with various needs. Laurel worked cooperatively with other agencies, attended benefit tribunals, and liaised with social services.

In 2012, Laurel became a Team Leader at Action Homeless, managing three hostels and leading a team of five staff members. Laurel was responsible for supervisions, appraisals, conflict management, and troubleshooting. Laurel also assisted in modernizing and streamlining existing paperwork.

From 2014 to 2018, they worked as a Service Manager at Riverside, where they demonstrated leadership skills by managing the day-to-day operations of a high-risk, complex needs service. Laurel secured and delivered a £1 million redevelopment project and developed meaningful relationships with street-based homeless people in the city.

Laurel'snext role was as a Regional Housing Manager at Phoenix Futures from 2018 to 2021, where they managed specialist supported housing services for individuals with substance use needs. Laurel developed strategic aims, managed budgets, and expanded housing provisions.

Since 2021, Laurel has been working at Centrepoint as an Operations Manager, overseeing supported housing services for young people in the London Borough of Camden. Laurel is responsible for successful contract delivery, managing 13 sites and 110 bed spaces dedicated to providing accommodation and support to 16-25 year olds.

Laurel's latest position is as the Head of Services and Support at Social Interest Group, starting in 2023.

Laurel Struthers began their education at Porthcawl Comprehensive School from 2000 to 2008, where they completed their GCSEs and A Levels. In 2012, they pursued an apprenticeship in health and social care at Leicester College. The same year, Laurel also completed a course in Auricular Acupuncture at SMART UK. In 2013, Laurel obtained a Level 3 Team Leader and Management certification from the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM). Laurel'seducational journey continued at London Southbank University from 2019 to 2021, where they achieved a PgDip in Leadership and Management, specializing in Homelessness and Housing.
