Ellen Houston has extensive experience in academia and research, currently serving as the Knowledge Management and Classification at the Economics Research Network (ERN) at SSRN since September 2016. Ellen has been a visiting professor in the International Studies Department at Marymount Manhattan College since 2006, where contributions include teaching various courses such as Political Economy of Development and receiving a Teaching Excellence Award in 2009. Previously, Ellen provided expert testimony for a United Nations interactive dialogue and held multiple teaching and consulting roles at prestigious institutions, including New York University and the United Nations, focusing on gender, development, and economics. Ellen earned a Master of Science in Economics from the New School for Social Research and a Bachelor's degree in International Studies from the University of Denver's Josef Korbel School.
