Giovanni-Luca Soma

Giovanni-Luca Soma is the current Head of the Europe region for International Banking and Financial Services at Société Générale. Giovanni-Luca has held this position since April 2019.

Prior to their current role, Mr. Soma was a Member of the Board at ALD Automotive from June 2001 to April 2019. Giovanni-Luca was also the Chief Executive Officer at GE Capital Warranty Services & Consumer Finance from January 1997 to December 2000, and Head of International Sales at Hyperion Software from January 1993 to December 1996.

Before embarking on their career in the corporate world, Mr. Soma worked as a Manager in Management Consulting at Ernst & Young from January 1987 to December 1990, and as a Senior Manager at Telos Management Consulting (Deloitte) from January 1990 to December 1993.

Mr. Soma began their professional journey in 1984 as a Junior Controller at Telecom Italia (Italcable), where they worked until 1985.

Giovanni-Luca Soma earned their MBA from Scuola di Amministrazione Aziendale - Universita’ degli Studi di Torino. Giovanni-Luca also holds a Laurea in Economia e Commercio from Luiss Guido Carli University.

They work with Guido Zoeller - Group Country Head for Germany and Head of Societe Generale Corporate & Investment Banking activities in Germany, François Bloch - CEO BRD, and Alexandre Maymat - Head of the Africa/Asia/Mediterranean Basin & Overseas region, International Banking and Financial Services.
