Sheryl Jarvis

Director, Board & Committees at Society for Corporate Governance

Sheryl Jarvis has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Sheryl began their career at The New York Historical Society, where they worked as the Secretary to the Board/Executive Assistant from 1985 to 1993. Sheryl then moved to Columbia University, where they served as the Manager of Strategic Planning/Executive Assistant from 1995 to 1999.

In 2005, Sheryl joined Christie's as an Executive Assistant for two years before transitioning to the American Red Cross in Greater New York, where they held the position of Director of Administration from 2007 to 2012.

From 2012 to 2019, Sheryl served as the Director of Administration & Governance at the Central Park Conservancy. In this role, they provided administrative support to the 55-member Board of Trustees and oversaw board policy development, governance compliance, and the board portal and repository. Sheryl also managed a 4-member Office Administrative Services & Call Center Team.

Most recently, Sheryl joined the Society for Corporate Governance in 2019 as the Director of Board & Committees. Their responsibilities include managing a 20-member Board of Directors, 6 Committees, and various working and regulatory advisory groups. Sheryl oversees the production and dissemination of all board, committee, and working group materials and manages the Boardvantage board portal.

Sheryl Jarvis attended Rutgers University from 1980 to 1984, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art History and Economics.
