Hengguang Li

Vice President Of Great Lakes Section at Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics

Hengguang Li is a distinguished educator and mathematician, currently serving as the Math Department Chair and Professor of Mathematics at Wayne State University since August 2011. In addition, Hengguang Li holds the position of Vice President of the Great Lakes Section of the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM) since January 2024 and founded Megrez Education in January 2020. Prior experience includes a role as a Research Fellow at the Air Force Office of Scientific Research in 2015, an IMA Postdoc Fellow at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities from August 2010 to July 2011, and a Philip T. Church Postdoc Fellow at Syracuse University from August 2008 to July 2010. Hengguang Li earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Mathematics from Penn State University and a Bachelor's degree in Computational Mathematics from Peking University.
