Chad Epps

Past President at Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH)

Chad Epps has extensive work experience in the field of healthcare improvement and patient simulation. Chad is currently working at The University of Tennessee Health Science Center as the Executive Director of the Center for Healthcare Improvement and Patient Simulation (CHIPS) since June 2016. In addition, they hold the position of Professor in Anesthesiology and Interprofessional Education at the same institution.

Before joining The University of Tennessee, Epps served as the Past President of the Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH) starting from January 2014.

From July 2007 to May 2016, Epps worked at the University of Alabama at Birmingham as an Associate Professor and Director of Simulation.

Prior to that, they held positions at Mount Sinai Medical Center, where they were a Fellow in Human Patient Simulation in 2004-2005, and a Resident in Anesthesiology from 2001 to 2004.

Epps began their career as an Intern at the University of Florida in 2000-2001.

Chad Epps completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Augusta State University in 1995. Later, they pursued a Medical Doctorate (MD) in Medicine from Medical Careers, completing the program in 2000.
