Sonia Zhou

Sonia Zhou has a diverse work experience history. Sonia most recently worked as a Creative/Marketing Associate at Candy Funhouse, starting in May 2022. Prior to that, they were the Digital Media Design Manager at Roses Are Rez since March 2020. From October 2018, Sonia worked as a Graphic Design Artist at Society6. Sonia also served as the Head of Media at UW Dance Company from September 2020 to May 2022. Sonia gained experience as a Videography/Photography Intern at Candy Funhouse from June 2021 to January 2022. Sonia was also a Videographer at Creators Collective from January 2021 to June 2021. In July 2020, Sonia worked as a Floral Production Support at Mexican Flower Trading Inc. Before that, they served as a Digital Media Specialist at Edalica Metal Services from July 2019 to September 2019. Sonia started their career as a Dance Assistant Teacher at Axis Dance Studio from September 2016 to June 2018.

Sonia Zhou attended Mayfield Secondary School, where they completed the Regional Arts Program with a focus on Dance. After graduating from high school, they pursued higher education at the University of Waterloo from 2020 to 2024. At the university, Sonia studied Global Business and Digital Arts. In 2022 and 2023, Sonia also participated in a Study Abroad program at Ulster University, focusing on Sculpture Lens & Ceramics, and Staged Photography. In terms of additional certifications, Sonia successfully completed the Advanced Foundation Ballet Exam from the Royal Academy of Dance in April 2019. In March 2017, they also obtained an Advanced Rudiments Theory Test with Distinction from The Royal Conservatory of Music.
