Pieter Smit

Pieter Smit has been working in the field of ocean science since obtaining their PhD in fluid mechanics from Delft University of Technology in 2013. Pieter has held various research and leadership positions at companies and institutions such as NorthWest Research Associates, Stanford University, and Scripps Institution of Oceanography. Currently, Pieter serves as the Head of Ocean Science at Sofar Ocean, where Pieter is dedicated to connecting the world's oceans to provide valuable insights for a more sustainable planet.
