Yankel Karasik has a diverse work experience, beginning in 2015. That year, they served as an Assistant at the Zebra Fish Oxidation Stress Lab at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where they were responsible for the care, screening and labeling of multiple zebra fish strains, and chemical dosage of embryos. Yankel also conducted genotyping and analysis of zebra fish strains using techniques such as Protein Purification, enzyme digests, fin clipping, DNA extraction and PCR. Additionally, they served as a Lab Intern at the Zebra Fish Developmental Genetics Lab at UMass Boston. In 2018, they began working as a Lab Support Technician at Thermo Fisher Scientific Unity Lab Services at Pfizer, where they were responsible for ensuring that the lab was efficiently stocked for research and function through reagent management. In 2020, they became a Lateral Flow Analyst at Charm Sciences, Inc., where they were involved in the production of multiple ROSA lateral flow tests used to ensure the quality of safe, low-antibiotic milk for global consumption. This included running assays, detailed record keeping and data analysis used to ensure end product quality. Finally, in 2022, they began working as a Research Associate at Sofregen Inc., where they were engaged in the production and development of silk-based medical devices. Yankel developed production improvements resulting and yield optimization and testing capabilities, and was actively involved in regulatory elements to ensure product compliance.

Yankel Karasik completed a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and a Bachelor of Science in Biology, General from the University of Massachusetts Amherst between 2014 and 2018. Yankel is currently enrolled in a Certificate program in Clinical Design and Management at UC San Diego Extended Studies. Yankel also has a Certificate in Biostatistics from Boston University, which they have been pursuing since 2017.
