Hugo Pires

Hugo Pires currently serves as a Flight Simulator Engineer at Sogitec, having joined the company in November 2023. Previously, Hugo worked as a Research and Development Engineer at KERMAP from February to November 2023, focusing on ship detection through satellite image analysis. Additionally, from June 2022 to February 2023, Hugo was affiliated with Laboratoire Geo-Ocean (LGO UBS) as a Searcher, studying the dynamics of seagrass meadows using remote sensing. In April 2021, Hugo participated as an Analog Astronaut in the EuroMoonMars mission EMMPOL3, leading experiments in a space habitat. Earlier experiences include a Lean Engineer internship at Arc in 2020, conducting workshops on satellite functionality at Airbus Defence and Space, and engaging visitors at Cité de l'espace during Apollo Days. Hugo holds a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from IPSA, and also studied at Rīgas Tehniskā universitāte from September 2021 to January 2022.
