Kumail Lawati

Kumail Lawati, CFA, currently serves as AVP - Fund and Portfolio Management at Sohar International since January 2021, after holding the position of Senior Specialist in the same area. Prior to this role, Kumail worked at Gulf Baader Capital Markets SAOC from June 2017 to January 2021 as a Portfolio Manager and Manager of the Research department. Previous experience includes a role in Investment Banking at ahlibank from April 2014 to May 2017, and as an Investment Banker at Standard Chartered Bank for one year starting in January 2011. Kumail began the professional career as a US Broker at Vision Investment Services Co. SAOC from November 2009 to January 2011. Education was completed at Anglia Ruskin University, where a Bachelor of Business Management with a focus on Marketing was earned between 2005 and 2009.
