James Neal has work experience in various legal roles. James worked as a Solicitor in the Corporate department at Withers LLP from September 2010 to May 2017, where they focused on mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, and general corporate and commercial advice. James frequently advised Italian clients and collaborated with the firm's Milan office and Italian desk in London. Prior to that, they completed their training contract at Withers LLP, working in the Employment, Commercial Litigation, and Commercial Property departments, as well as spending time in the Corporate team at the Withers office in Milan. James also had a stint as a Stagiere in the Employment, Pensions, and Benefits practice group at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer from September 2009 to July 2010, where they assisted with employment considerations related to bank acquisitions and advised on complaints brought by directors against a multinational bank. Currently, they hold the position of Senior Legal Director at Soho House & Co, starting from May 2017.

James Neal attended Oakham School from 1995 to 2003. James later enrolled at UCL from 2004 to 2008, where they obtained a 2.1 degree in Law and Italian Law. In 2006 and 2007, they participated in an Erasmus program at the Università degli Studi di Firenze. James later attended BPP Law School in 2009 and 2010, focusing on the Legal Practice Course.
