Thorsten Guthke

Thorsten Guthke is an accomplished legal and regulatory professional currently serving as Head of the European Office at SOKA-BAU since January 2020. Prior to this role, Thorsten held the position of Director and Head of European Affairs at the Bundesverband Öffentlicher Banken Deutschlands (VÖB) from January 2015 to January 2020, as well as Director at the European Association of Public Banks (EAPB) from September 2014 to January 2020, focusing on interest representation, capital markets, and taxation. Previously, Thorsten was the Head of the Legal Department at the European Savings and Retail Banking Group - World Savings Banks Institute and served as Manager of Regulatory Affairs at FEFANA asbl. Thorsten began a legal career as Rechtsanwalt at Laux S.S.C. & Coll. from October 1999 to February 2006. Thorsten holds a Doctor iuris utriusque (PhD) in Law and a Master's degree (Staatsexamen) in Law from The Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg, along with an education from various esteemed institutions.
