Susanna Mäkinen

Susanna Mäkinen has a diverse work experience in the field of biology and protein applications. Susanna currently holds the position of Head of Biology at Solar Foods since November 2022. Prior to this, they worked as a Senior Specialist in Advanced Protein Applications at Solar Foods from January 2022 to October 2022.

Before joining Solar Foods, Mäkinen worked at Roal Oy for a significant period. Susanna served as a Senior Research Scientist from December 2017 to December 2021. Prior to that, they worked as a Research Scientist from April 2008 to November 2017 and started their career at Roal Oy as an Intern/Research Scientist from May 2006 to March 2008.

Mäkinen's earlier experience includes working as a Graduate Student Researcher in the Department of Neurology at the University of Eastern Finland from June 2004 to April 2006.

Susanna Mäkinen started their education at the University of Eastern Finland in 2002 and completed their Master's degree in Molecular Biology and Gene Technology in 2006. Then, in 2021, they enrolled in non-degree studies at the University of Helsinki, specializing in Bioinformatics and Systems Medicine.
