Alessandro Bianciardi

Alessandro Bianciardi is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in biomimicry, environmental management, and project coordination. Currently serving as an Evaluator of Innovative Products at the Solar Impulse Foundation since April 2021, Alessandro is responsible for assessing innovations based on feasibility, environmental impact, and financial criteria. As a Co-Founder of Biomimicry Italia and Planet - Nature Inspired Technology, Alessandro leads initiatives in biologically-inspired design and product innovation. Previous roles include Head of Section at the European Commission, where supervision of EU-funded projects for the Turkish Cypriot community was paramount, and Programme Manager in the Development and Cooperation Department focusing on energy access projects in ACP countries. An educational background that includes a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Politecnico di Milano and a Master's in Biomimicry from Arizona State University highlights Alessandro's expertise in biologically inspired design and sustainability.
