Steve Girard

Steve Girard has extensive work experience in various leadership roles. Steve is currently serving as the Vice President of C&I Sales - East Region at NRG Energy since September 2022. Prior to this, they held the position of Vice President of Client Services at NRG Energy from February 2021 to September 2022.

Before joining NRG Energy, Steve worked at Direct Energy Business, where they held several key positions. Steve served as the Vice President of Customer Operations from January 2017 to February 2021, Vice President of Small Business from December 2013 to January 2017, Head of Front Office Operations from March 2012 to December 2013, and Director of Financial Planning & Analysis and Decision Support from September 2010 to March 2012.

Prior to their tenure at Direct Energy Business, Steve worked at Citizens Bank as the Vice President of MidCorporate Banking from September 2008 to August 2010.

Steve's earlier work experience includes roles at Strategic Energy LLC as the Director of Credit from February 2003 to August 2008, at Standard & Poor's as a Senior Associate from June 2000 to December 2002, at PNC Bank in the field of Corporate Banking from 1997 to 1999, and at Dollar Bank as a Loan Analyst from February 1995 to February 1997.

Steve Girard attended Mt. Lebanon HS from 1986 to 1990, where they completed their high school degree focused on general studies. Steve then pursued their Bachelor's degree in Finance and International Business at Penn State University from 1990 to 1994. Steve furthered their education by obtaining an MBA with a concentration in Finance from the University of Pittsburgh Katz Graduate School of Business from 1998 to 2000.
