Ewoud Huiskamp

Ewoud Huiskamp has worked in a variety of engineering roles since 2010. In 2010, they worked as a carpenter for Emergo Prefab, where they constructed prefab roofs, walls, and dormers. In 2012, they worked as a mechanical engineer for MechDes Engineering, where they focused on structural engineering of machines and offshore equipment. In 2014, they worked as an R&D engineer for Allseas, where they conducted FE calculations of equipment and ships. In 2015, they worked as a graduate student for the Dutch Ministry of Defence, researching the double hull structure of the Dutch Walrus class submarines. From 2016 to 2019, they worked at Damen Shipyards Group as both a research engineer and a development engineer, focusing on fatigue in aluminum ships, structural design and analysis of complex (floating) specials, and hydro-structural analysis of ship structures. Since 2019, they have been working as both a co-founder and engineering director for SolarDuck, where they have the lead in engineering and R&D activities for their offshore floating solar farms.

Ewoud Huiskamp began their educational journey in 2003 when they attended CSG De Heemgaard and obtained an Atheneum in Natuur en Gezondheid & Natuur en Techniek. In 2010, they attended Noorderpoort college and obtained a Montagemedewerker Timmerindustrie BBL-2. From 2011 to 2014, they attended University of Twente and obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Finally, from 2014 to 2016, they attended Delft University of Technology and obtained a Master's Degree in Offshore Engineering.
