Position Overview:

Solid Power is seeking a day shift Quality Control Technician I to join our talented team of engineers and scientists working to revolutionize the battery industry through the development of next generation, all solid‐state rechargeable batteries.  Solid Power is a dynamic, fast‐paced, collaborative, and innovative team environment. The preferred candidate will be a skilled chemical technician, with interest and comfort in conducting hands-on testing and experimentation.  The Quality Technician will work in a laboratory environment, with their primary responsibility being the efficient and accurate chemical, physical, and mechanical analysis of solid-state battery materials and components. 

 Job Duties:

  • Follow and document standard sample preparation testing procedures under the guidance of senior technicians, engineers, and scientists.  Test, analyze, record, and report data related to raw materials, intermediate materials, and finished goods products.
  • Assist in more specialized sample preparation and testing, both at Solid Power and in partnership with Solid Power’s contractors and partners.
  • Maintain test equipment in calibrated, clean, and proper working conditions.  Support manufacturer maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair as needed.
  • Work closely with engineering and production teams to ensure analytical testing procedures provide sufficient and timely feedback.
  • Assist in writing SOPs, contribute to technical reports, specification setting, CTQ determination, and deliver other requested technical data as required.
  • Maintain and foster a safe working environment.  Remain current on assigned training.

Qualifications/ Requirements:

  • Education:
    • High School/GED and a minimum of 6 years of relevant work experience required. Or,
    • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or related discipline.
  • Greater than 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing or analytical laboratory environment preferred.
  • Hands-on experience working with various analytical tools for solid and liquid chemical analysis and physical testing within a manufacturing laboratory environment preferred.
  • Experience using SAP a plus.
  • Able to prioritize tasks and communicate results.
  • Experience in method development or statistical analysis of data is desirable.

Physical Requirements (with or without accommodation):

  • Prolonged periods of sitting and standing.
  •  Occasionally lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds.
  • Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as necessary including, but not limited to eye protection, hair net, gloves, face mask, coveralls, full-face respirator or PAPR.

Salary Range: $26 - $30/hour
