Rodney Williams

Rodney Williams is the co-founder and chairman of SoLo Funds, one of the leading financial technology companies for underserved communities. Rodney has over fifteen years of experience in the financial technology industry. Rodney originally launched SoLo as an on-demand marketplace where members can request and fund loans for emergency needs. To date, they’ve processed millions of transactions, providing a lending alternative that is equitable, empowering, and community-driven. Solo is now building a community-driven financial technology company to further serve the needs of the underrepresented .

Prior to SoLo, Rodney was the Chief Executive Officer of LISNR, a leading ultrasonic data platform that enables secure and seamless person present authentications using the most advanced ultrasonic data technology across retail, payments, and mobility. Rodney has also held positions as a financial analyst at Lockheed Martin and an assistant brand manager intern at Procter & Gamble.

Rodney is a Henry Crown Fellow at the Aspen Institute and an Endeavor Entrepreneur. Rodney has also been a mentor at Techstars for the past seven years.

Rodney Williams has a MBA from Howard University, an M.S. in Integrated Marketing Communication from West Virginia University, and a B.B.A and B.A. in Economics from West Virginia University. Rodney also attended Calvert Hall College High School.
