Janet Rivers

Janet Rivers is an experienced botanist and educator with a strong focus on environmental health and education. As the owner of Green Mountain Rivers, LLC, an online plant nursery since September 2018, Janet leverages botanical expertise. Concurrently, Janet serves as a Master Watershed Steward with Penn State College of Agricultural Sciences Extension, promoting water health and land management awareness. Janet contributes as a trained Oiled Wildlife Rescue Volunteer with Tri-State Bird Rescue and Research and is certified in Wilderness First Aid through SOLO Wilderness Medical School. With a longstanding commitment to education, Janet has been a private tutor since 1996, assisting students across all grade levels in English, writing, and study skills. Previous roles include Naturalist and Education Program Director at Spoutwood Farm Center, where Janet conducted research and managed educational programs. Janet holds a Bachelor of Science in Botany/Plant Biology from York College of Pennsylvania.
