Charles McDonald

Charles McDonald has extensive work experience in various roles related to investment, business intelligence, and strategy. Charles currently serves as an Investment Analyst, private investor, and board member at Chicago Arch Angels and MD Angels, where they specialize in spotting weaknesses in high growth companies and offers expertise in equity investment and compensation.

Prior to this, they held the position of VP Business Intelligence at SoloInsight Inc., where they played a crucial role in building the company's commercial presence in the US.

Before that, Charles served as the President of Airtight Compliance, a SAAS solution provider for investment firms. Charles managed a team and oversaw the coordination between compliance content experts and compliance software experts. Charles also had P&L responsibility, with a focus on small hedge funds and registered investment advisors.

Earlier in their career, Charles worked as an Investment Consultant and Hedge Fund Subject Matter Expert at Towers Watson and Mercer Investments. In these roles, they conducted research, visited hedge funds, reviewed managers, and presented alternative investment concepts.

Charles began their career as a Principal and Senior Equity Research Analyst at William Blair & Company. Charles was recognized as a top analyst for their understanding and valuing of companies, providing detailed research and strong interaction with senior management teams.

Prior to William Blair & Company, Charles served as Manager of Strategy & Corporate Development and Director of Investor Relations at Dart & Kraft, Inc. In this role, they evaluated acquisition and divestiture candidates, developed financial and operating strategies, and conducted competitive analysis and valuation of acquisitions.

Charles McDonald has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a specialization in Accounting and Finance from Cornell Johnson Graduate School of Management. Charles also holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Economics and Mathematics from The Ohio State University. In addition, Charles has a certification as a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), obtained from the CFA Institute.
