Kaan Gunes

Kaan Gunes has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Starting in 2004, they worked as a Graduate Research Assistant in Polymer Engineering at The University of Akron. From 2009 to 2011, they served as a Project Leader in Product and Process Development at Kordsa Global, Sabanci Corporation. In 2011, they joined Eastman Chemical Company as a Senior Applications Development Engineer in Durables and Medical until 2014. Then, from 2015 to 2018, they held the position of Market Development Manager in Corporate Innovation at Eastman Chemical Company. Following that, they worked at Ascend Performance Materials from 2018 to 2023 in various roles including Senior Markets Manager, Corporate Finance, Senior Strategy and Growth Manager, and Global Business Manager, Specialties. Kaan'smost recent position, starting in 2023, is as the Sr. Director of Product Management at Solugen.

Kaan Gunes completed their Executive MBA from Rice Business - Jones Graduate School of Business from 2019 to 2021. Kaan obtained their Ph.D. in Polymer Engineering from The University of Akron between 2004 and 2009. Prior to that, they earned their Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Boğaziçi University from 2000 to 2004. Kaan Gunes's high school education was at Uskudar American Academy, where they focused on Science and Math from 1993 to 2000.

In terms of certifications, Kaan Gunes obtained the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI) in August 2011.
